After a successful performance at the Festival Theatre a few days ago, the Woodville High School’s African migrant choir, Uhuru Voices, has been invited to perform at the Multicultural Festival of South Australia later this year.

A Test for New Migrants

The introduction of a new test for migrants, in Australia, has ruffled some feathers.

From now on, migrants applying for the Australian citizenship are likely to face rigorous examination to ensure they understand enough English to talk to workmates, fill out forms and read safety signs, according to The Australian newspaper report.

Africa Down Under

The Africa Down Under Conference will take place next week in Perth, Western Australia, 7-8 September 2006.
